Okay.....so it's been a while since posted...I have been:
Working
Kyan got a cold
Working
We went to California
Working
I got drunk during the VP debate so as not to shoot myself
We went to Pennsylvania
Kyan learned to walk
Working
Kyan is getting another tooth
Working
So yeah, it's been busy.
I will post pics from sunny California, where I finally got to meet up with my message board buddies, Michelle, Julie and Alana-and had a GREAT time, just as soon as I have the time to upload them.
Fallen off the wagon with my diet, though still trying to be good walking, and I fully intend to get back on the horse with that......
The real question is:
Should I ask Jon for Doc Marten's for Christmas? I wear nothing but flats any more, so buying fancy, cute shoes no longer makes sense....and I am trying to downsize the shoe collection, which once numbered close to 50 pairs because I don;t have the room and I never wear most of them.....and I used to LIVE in a pair of bronze Doc Martens......But seeing as they are 12 years old, and no longer bronze from wear and tear, perhaps it is time for a new pair? and this is certianly more practical than say, jewelry......
VOTE PLEASE:
Leopard-always fun and funky:
Cherry Red-Red being my favorite color and a nice way to liven up all the black (it's slimming! really!) that I wear:
Because embroidered shoes are always fun:
Metallic Blue-Um, these are bright metallic blue-WHAT IS NOT TO LOVE?
These make me think of funky wing tips...They'd probably get dirty really quickly, but aren't they cool??
Okay, well that's all for now.....Please let me know what you think of the boots.....it may be THE MOST IMPORTANT DECISION YOU MAKE THIS YEAR-(Screw the election).

Will require vast amounts of alcohol and enough tranquilizers to kill a horse
Packing for vacation is never a fun thing. Without fail, everytime I have gone anywhere for overnight or longer, I have forgotten SOMETHING.....Once, it was pajamas, once a toothbrush, once my contacts, once underwear...I'll let you get a nice visual of me in 4 day old underwear......is it now burned into your mind forever? Unable to be removed even if you flossed your brain?? Awesome.
This year, it promises to be remarkably harder, because not only am I packing for me, I am packing for Kyan....Because not only has the kid not pushed through his tooth yet or learned to pull up; he still hasn't learned how to fold a onesie correctly and is therefore useless in the task at hand.
What's that you say? I don't leave for vacation for another week and a half?? True, true...In that time, though, I must make sure every scrap of laundry is done, and spend time ruminating over items I have left off the list.......Having a kid makes this list SO much longer.....Not only do I pack my shampoo and conditioner, I also need his baby soap, no tears organic shampoo and mousturizer for his eczema. We are bringing 2 (yes as in TWO) laptops on our VACATION because my laptop has ITunes and therefore all our music on it, as well as a CD burner which my parents wish to have use of on said vacation, and Jon has to bring his because the man cannot be without his laptop for more than 5 minutes. Really, he's married to his laptop and I am his mistress and Kyan is our love child. Seriously, he takes his laptop into the bathroom with him. Nevermind that our beachouse does not have Wi-Fi and we do not have an air card......Jon will make sweet love to his laptop at the local Starbucks.
I have to bring as many sets of Queen sized bed sheets as I can locate, because the shore house does not provide them. Ditto for towels. Not to mention a stroller.....and a Pack N' Play for the baby to sleep in, because there is no crib there. And a high chair. And baby toys. And digital camera. And camcorder. Has your brain exploded yet? And that's just a FEW items from the list as it stands right now.....I have a whole week and a half to obsess over what else I could be forgetting. Never mind how we will fit this into our Toyota Matrix. I'd been hoping a minivan would drop from the sky into our driveway...Damn-SCREWED AGAIN.

34 Weeks
Okay, so I FINALLY dragged my ass out of bed this morning and went for my THIRD glucose test. I won't get the results till Monday, which means if they are bad, at least I had this weekend to pig out on the ice cream...
I also finally managed to make some progress on the baby's room. I FINALLY grabbed some of the baby outfits, our 10 hooded towels, innumerable washcloths, and 4, 645, 234 receiving blankets, and began the washing process, which includes DREFT and NO dryer sheets. I have done endless folding, which will be followed by endless organizing and putting away.....fun will be had by......well, no one.
I also managed to drag myself OUT of the house last night (gasp! What's that you say? You put on REAL clothes and LEFT THE HOUSE??) with Jon's help, and we went to Target, where a shelf was purchased for the baby's room (to go above the changing table and hold all his fancy butt and diaper rash creams), as well as some storage containers for the clothes he is not wearing at the moment, and to Babies R' Us, where we bought a hamper for all the dirty clothes the aforementioned baby will soil, and some pants, since the little man will NEVER run out of onesies, but was a bit lacking in the pants department. And since it is deemed not socially acceptable to be sans pants as an adult (male), I gotta get him used to it at some point. I kept gravitating to the cute little bathing suits for babies, but Jon will not allow me to put our son in an infant bikini, even if they ARE way cuter then the little boy swim trunks.
Also, if you ever considered renting "Employee of the Month", save yourself the trouble and put a pencil through your eye instead. My dear husband put this on our movie queue and wanted to watch it last night. I wasn't expecting great comedy here, but the movie was practically ANTI-funny. And because Jon just ADORES movies that become a train wreck as you watch them, I had to watch the WHOLE THING-ALL THE WAY THROUGH. The only torture I can think of worse than this would be watching The O'Reilly Factor on a constant loop.....
