Looking for a good time...
Look at the STUFF!!
Portrait of Kyan
Ever notice how it's WAY easier to write about someone else than yourself? I seem to have fallen into this rut......It's way ewasier to post a few cute pics of Kyan than to post anything about myself...mostly because I have nothing interesting going on.....I wake up, I nurse the baby, I play with the baby, I nurse again, I put the baby down for nap, I work, I nurse...lather, rinse, repeat.....I take comfort in knowing that anyone who checks this blog WANTS to hear about the baby and NOT me anyway.
My sister's birthday is coming up, so Jon, the baby and I will be heading down to PA to visit (don't see anyone coming up here, though, do ya??)
Aside from that....Yes, my life really IS that boring.....

Three Months
My dear Kyan:
Yesterday you were Three months old. I would have written this post yesterday, but you were too busy screaming into my ear for me to be able to sit down and write.
You have come a long way since we brought you home. You now smile and laugh. You also know how to stick out your lower lip so we can more easily tell when you are pissed off, which is more often now. Your begining to learn how to grasp things-Namely: My hair, your hair, my nosering, or my nipple when you are nursing.
You are starting to sit up, though not on your own-You are growing more accustomed to your Bumbo seat. You sit there as if that is your throne, and you are just waiting for some little girl babies in togas to come along and feed you grapes...not that you could EAT grapes, yet....
We make sure to give you tummy time each day, which means we lay you on your stomach and cheer you on as you whine miserably about the impossibility of trying to lift your head up for such an extended period of time. Eventually, you just give up and start blowing snots all over your playmat.
You recently learned "cause and effect". When we feed you a bottle in the morning and take it out of your mouth to burp you, you scream as if the world were a truly horrible place and no injustice is greater than that nipple being removed from your piehole. Just to be sure we get the point, you will turn your head and mouth TOWARDS my or your father's ear so you can scream DIRECTLY into it-Just in case we didn't realize how pissed you were. As soon as you are back in position for your bottle, you immediatly calm down, because you know you are about to get the bottle back.
You frequenly go from smiling and giggly to a pouty lower lip or full out crying, leading your father and I to believe that you may be bi-polar. Luckily, we are prepared for this. By the time you are old enough to swallow pills, you will be so medicated as to make Courtney Love look normal. If meds don't work, I plan on locking you in a room while I drink full bottles of vodka.
We recently transitioned you to your crib in your own room so that your sleep toots and morning poop grunts do not wake us up-Which is not to say we don't love you, just that you are the world's loudest pooper, and Mommy and Daddy prefer sleep over the sounds brought forth from your butt cheeks.
All in all, it has been a fairly easy three months...Which is why I am sure you will shortly turn into the anti-christ....Just, ya know, to keep us on our toes....
Love,
Mama

Conversation with Ky #2
And here is another video of me and Ky conversing...In this clip, we cover Ky's hairstyle, what he thinks of Britney Spears, shout-outs to family, and his present for me....(Sorry it's sideways again)..
ALMOST Friday....
Ugh-The weekend can't come soon enough..I am pooped..I LOVE being home with Kyan, don;t get me wrong...but taking care of a baby is WORK, and so with working from home as an Executive Assistant, it's like working TWO jobs...And I am exhausted....Anyway, here are 2 new pics of the little guy....
This is Kyan sleeping like...a baby...How appropriate...
And this is one of him enjoying a book..It has black and white images in it-High contrast images are what they see best at this age...He LOVES the book-he gets mesmerized :-)

Recent Pics
This past weekend we went out Pumpkin picking...it was a GORGEOUS day and highly enjoyable. Kyan didn;t get that much out of the excursion, but Mom and Dad certainly enjoyed themselves!
Looking for the perfect pumpkin....
Kyan weatring his "Jack-O-Lantern" baseball cap (Thanks, Aunt Sarah!)
And here's one of us NOT in Jon's shadow :-)
Kyan and Daddy wearing their hats backwards :-)
Me and Ky holding hands
The Family Photo
And here are a couple random ones....
Ky in his Giant's Jersey from Me-Mom and Pop-Pop...(Don't worry, he has an Eagles one, too-even if they do SUCK this season)
Ky in the Oliver Twist type cap I bought him..he is not a big fan in this picture...
In Adult Land, Jon and I will be going out on an actual DATE this weekend (we have not been out without the baby since he was born nearly 3 months ago)...Grammy Pammy and GrandPop are watching Kyan while Jon and I go to dinner and a movie-WOOHOO-I won't even have to stop eating my dinner to nurse or give him a bottle-And we won't have to draw straws to see who gets to do the next diaper change! Oh, the luxury! Last time we went to go see a movie, Ky was about 2.5 weeks old, and we went to a matinee of the "The Simpson's Movie", and I go to see about 3/4 of it before the baby started fussing, so I walked out of the theater. So this time, I will get to see a WHOLE movie....YAY!!
In the world of baby milestones, Kyan is now holding his head up really well-we try to make sure to give him belly time each day. He is smiling and laughing a lot, particularly after a really good poop. He also has developed a really good grasp-cause' he has ripped several fistfuls of my hair out.
So that is what is new in Beckyland.....

Crazy Hair
If someone's future career could be based on his hair, I would have to guess that Kyan is either destined to be like Albert Einstein, Art Garfunkel, possibly Andy Warhol-Or maybe Don King. And here is video of Jon and I making asses out of ourselves to get Ky's attention while he ignores us completely....I LOVE being a parent.
For your daily dose of all things Kyan:
Things are well (as well as they can be when you hate, loathe, and abominate your job). Ky continues to be a pooping machine-Thank goodness we do cloth at least SOME of the time, cause this kid fills enough diapers to fill a landfill on his very own. He's starting to "respond" when we talk to him-with coos and shrieks of course, but it's fun that the conversations aren't so one-sided anymore.
As for me, not much to report. Working on losing my fat ass, slowly but surely. Hoping to win the lottery. Halloween is coming up....Kyan will be a Lobster, Thanks to my cousin Julia lending me the costume she used on her now 2 year old daughter.
I am also racking my brain to try and figure out what to get Jon for our wedding Anniversary (our 3rd). He is SO hard to buy for-I'd LOVE to take him away for a weekend, but we don't hve the money for that. If you have any ideas, feel free to post them under "comments", cause I got nuthin'.
And, Oh, joy of joys, I will be cooking Thanksgiving this year. With a 4 month old...JUST what I feel like doing. This came about as: "Oh, I'll order the turkey and drop it off at your house the day before. And I'll bring pie." Perhaps I'll put laxatives in the stuffing so that no one stays too long.....

I'm so crafty.....
As the title of this post implies, I was feeling a bit crafty today. I often use a Hotsling, which is a pouch sling made to carry a baby around in. Ky is generally pretty happy in his sling, and they are a more attractive alternative to a plain old Baby Bjorn. Well, I had some pretty blue Chinese silk brocade fabric laying around, and thought it would be nice to have another sling in a different fabric. So I used my Hotsling as a template, and VOILA!......
Here is the Hotsling I have and used as my template:

What The F***??
Okay, so today is October 5th, and the high will be 88 degrees-yes, 88. It's fall people! I wanna be able to break out my sweaters! I want to be able to put Ky in all the cute cool weather outfits he has that are 0-3 month and won't fit him by next week (they probably don't fit him now, at this point)!
Otherwise, all I can say is: Thank God it is Friday. I forgot how much working sucks, even if you only do it part time. Clearly, I should have married a milionaire so I could stay at home and eat bon-bons all day....Bummer :-( Perhaps we will win the lottery, so I can actually live out this fantasy.....
And here is my son looking like a cockatiel because of his hair pouf....

My kid is so frickin' cute!
I just had to post these 2 pics because they are SO cute......The first one is Ky and my friend Julie's baby, Joleen-It cracks me up the way JoJo is all happy looking, and Ky is all aloof and staring off into the distance like he is too cool for her or something.....it should be the cover for a toddler romance novel.
The next one is Ky's outfit for today-The overalls have little alligators embroidered on them-How cute is that??

Which end of the gene pool did our kid swim in?
Just think of all the potential uses for above....Not sure who your Baby Daddy is? Just upload both guys pics on the site, and the meter will tell you who spawned your offspring......Britney Spear's kids could start playing with it, just HOPING they resemble Papa more than Mama (how sad is that??) I could go on and on.....
